(CNN) -- An unmanned Japanese rocket was launched Saturday on a mission to deliver cargo to the International Space Station, the nation's Kyodo news agency reported.

The launch comes after two days of delays because of adverse weather conditions.

The rocket is carrying more than 5 tons of cargo, including food for astronauts, the agency reported.
