(CNN) -- An Indiana police officer was killed Monday in the line of duty.
Officer Brent Long was shot when he entered a Terre Haute, Indiana, home to serve a felony probation violation warrant, said Sgt. Joe Watts of the Putnamville District of the Indiana State Police.
Long, a six-year veteran of the Terre Haute Police Department, was with four other police officers and their K-9, Shadow, who was also shot, said Watts.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, but the investigation has not yet confirmed how the suspect died, Watts said.
Long leaves behind a wife and two children.
