Dallas (CNN) -- A Texas charter bus traveling near San Marcos, Texas, overturned around 4 a.m. Friday, sending all 21 passengers to local hospitals for various injuries, the severest one belonging to a 4-year-old.
Two people with head injuries were airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio, and two others were airlifted to Austin by emergency officials, according to San Marcos Police Chief Howard Williams. There were no fatalities.
The 4-year-old suffered a broken leg and some cuts, and was airlifted to Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin.
The Mares Bus Lines charter bus, which was coming from Mexico on its way to Dallas, Chicago and Des Moines, veered off Interstate 35 when the driver overcorrected and the bus turned over, Williams said. It blocked the interstate in both north and southbound lanes near San Marcos.
Northbound lanes reopened around 9 a.m. Southbound lanes opened earlier.
