(CNN) -- Authorities were investigating the crash of a small airplane near an airport in Indiana early Thursday.
The plane crashed in Connersville, Indiana, Wednesday night, state police said.
Authorities have determined that the pilot of the plane was killed. But the wreckage site was so severe authorities could not determine if there was anybody besides the pilot on the plane.
