(CNN) -- A Delta aircraft was forced to land on blown tires Friday after taking off from a Denver airport.

Delta flight 1716 landed safely at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport around 3 p.m.

Emergency vehicles followed the plane as it came down the runway.

The airport closed the runway while two blown tires were changed, according to a Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman.

It will either taxi or be towed to the gate, she said.
