Suspicious letter spurs plane search in North Carolina

(CNN) -- Officials in Charlotte, North Carolina searched a plane on Thursday after a suspicious note was found at the airport where the flight originated, the Transportation Security Administration said.

The TSA said the "aircraft was swept with negative findings" after clearing passengers and carry-on and checked bags.

The note was found in a restroom at the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport in Bentonville, Arkansas.

US Airways Express Flight 2488 landed at Charlotte Douglas International Airport around 10:20 a.m. and taxied to a remote area.

Law enforcement personnel met the plane and the passengers got off safely.
