(CNN) -- With apps for iPhones, iPads, Android phones and Android tablets, CNN delivers news and video to on-the-go American consumers on a variety of mobile platforms.
Now, CNN is expanding its reach to international users as well.
CNN and Nokia on Tuesday launched an international news app for Nokia E7 smartphones, available at the Ovi Store. The app is free.
Like CNN's other smartphone apps, it showcases global news through text, video and photos, and also lets users watch live breaking news video. The app also takes advantage of the camera on Nokia phones to let people submit videos and photos to iReport, CNN's user-generated news community.
"As the world's largest mobile handset manufacturer, Nokia has extensive reach and scale across international markets," said Louis Gump, vice president of CNN Mobile.
"Nokia users share broad interest in events around the world, and it is exciting to have the opportunity to put the power of CNN at their fingertips, and likewise, provide the chance for them to participate in the news with us through iReport."
Although it lags in the U.S., Nokia was the top seller of smartphones worldwide last year with 37.6% of the global market, according to a report from research firm Gartner.
Users of CNN's new Nokia app can flick through news stories across geographic categories, including the U.S., Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East, in addition to sections on Top Stories, Business, Sports, Entertainment, Tech and Travel.
The CNN app for Nokia also will be available for free in the coming weeks for the Nokia N8, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 models, with wider availability to be announced later.
