(CNN) -- Four people were found shot to death early Saturday near North Carolina's Research Triangle Park, authorities said.

Deputies arrived at Park Offices Drive and North Carolina 54 to find two women in the front and one in the back of a four-door Honda Accord, said Lt. Stan Harris of the Durham County Sheriff's Office. A young man was found outside the car.

All were believed to be in their 20s. Their identities were not immediately released.

The "gruesome" scene was in an industrial area, Harris told CNN Radio.

Two 911 callers reported they heard shots, Harris said.
