(CNN) -- A soldier who escaped Army custody while facing a rape charge has been captured at Daytona Beach, Florida, authorities said.
Police arrested Pvt. Daniel Brazelton, 20, accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in Los Angeles, at a motel late Friday.
He escaped February 11 from an Army vehicle while he was being returned to the jail in Hinesville, Georgia, from nearby Fort Stewart, authorities said.
Brazelton is awaiting extradition to California.
It was not clear whether Brazelton had retained defense counsel.
