(CNN) -- Thick, black smoke billowed from a fire in twin office towers in Hanoi, Vietnam, Thursday.

Images of the smoke were published online by the Vietnamese News Agency and the Tuoi Tre newspaper.

Everyone in the buildings, which are partially under construction, got out safely, said witness Chuck Searcy, who spoke with officials at the scene.

Some people suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to a hospital, but were expected to be fine, Searcy said.

The fire was on one of the higher floors.

The Tuoi Tre newspaper said the 33-story twin towers house the EVN Center for Telecommunications Information Management.

More than 100 firefighters were on the scene, along with police and bystanders.

By around 9:30 p.m. (9:30 a.m. ET), the fire seemed to be over. Fire trucks and ambulances were pulling away, Searcy said.

The towers are in the downtown area.

Authorities did not immediately know the cause of the fire.
