(CNN) -- A small plane crashed into a parked aircraft at Boeing Field in Seattle Wednesday night, sparking a fire on the east side of the airfield, authorities said.

The fire was quickly put out.

The Piper PA-44 crashed into the unoccupied parked plane shortly after takeoff, said Allen Kenitzer of the Federal Aviation Administration said.

CNN affiliate KIRO said the plane's occupants -- a flight instructor in her 30s and a student in his 20s --- were taken to a hospital with cuts and scratches.
