(CNN) -- A blast at a hotel in the southern Philippines on Sunday killed three people and wounded 27, an official said.
The explosion took place at the Atilano Pension House in Zamboanga City, said Sheila Covarrubias, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office. Among the injured were several wedding guests, she said.
The cause of the blast was not immediately clear.
A bomb squad was sent to the area, though its work was initially hampered by a fire that followed the explosion, the spokeswoman said.
The mayor is meeting with investigators.
