Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) -- At least three people were killed and 15 others wounded Thursday evening when a bomb detonated in northern Iraq, an Interior Ministry official said.
The bomb, the official said, had been placed near a shop that sells birds in Tal Afar and blew up at a time when the street was busy.
Tal Afar is about 45 miles (72 kilometers) west of Mosul and 40 miles (60 kilometers) from the Syrian border.
