Tanker explodes at Iraq-Jordan border; deaths reported

(CNN) -- An accident at the Iraq-Jordan border Thursday caused at least two deaths and damaged several vehicles, authorities said.

An oil tanker exploded during unloading, a public security department representative said, according to Petra, the official Jordanian news agency. Two people were killed and 12 others injured in the accident outside the Jordanian border, the official said.

More than 20 tankers and vehicles were damaged, Petra reported.

Iraq's Interior Ministry said three truck drivers were killed in the accident. At least 15 trucks were ablaze, the ministry added.
