Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- A bombing in southern Afghanistan killed a coalition service member on Wednesday, NATO's International Security Assistance Force said.

ISAF declined to identify the person's nationality and the specific location of the incident.

At least 528 coalition troops have died in the Afghan war in 2010, the highest yearly number of fatalities since the war began.

ISAF reported fighting with insurgents in southern Afghanistan that left three militants dead in Helmand province on Wednesday and six more killed on Tuesday near Kandahar.
