Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) -- An employee of Iraq's Independent High Electoral Commission was found shot dead inside his car Friday afternoon, Baghdad police said.
Police were suspicious of the car, which was parked in the Shiite neighborhood of Dolaei in northwestern Baghdad, and when they searched it they found the body of Karim Abdullah in the trunk, police said.
He had been shot several times, they said.
Since 2005, a number of Iraqi employees of the commission have been killed.
There were several killings during the last elections in March, according to officials with the commission. Between 2005 and 2006, at least 50 IHEC employees were assassinated, IHEC officials said.
