Jerusalem (CNN) -- The Israeli Air Force struck a suspected weapons manufacturing site in central Gaza Wednesday, in response to two mortars that were fired from the territory a day earlier, the military said.

The air force also struck what the military said were three tunnels, two of which were used for smuggling weapons.

The mortars fired from Gaza early Tuesday lightly injured two Israeli soldiers, the military said.

Israel says Palestinian militants have fired more than 115 rockets and mortars into Israeli territory since the beginning of the year.
