Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) -- One Briton was among those killed in Monday's suicide car bomb attack that targeted a British private security firm in Mosul, the British Embassy said.

Six Iraqis were critically wounded in the attack, police said.

The suicide bomber attacked a convoy of the construction firm in eastern Mosul, about 460 kilometers (285 miles) north of Baghdad.

Later in the day, a car bomb exploded outside a popular coffee shop in a Shiite area of western Baquba, police said. Four people were killed and at least 20 people were wounded in the attack 60 kilometers (about 35 miles) north of the capital, police added.
