Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) -- A least 12 people were wounded in a bombing northeast of Baghdad Friday, police said.

The midday attack targeted the house of a police officer south of the city of Baquba, the provincial capital of the ethnically mixed Diyala province located about 37 miles northeast of Baghdad.

The officer was not at his house at the time, and most of the casualties were worshipers at a nearby mosque for Friday prayers, police said.
