Jerusalem (CNN) -- There was an exchange of fire along the Israel-Gaza border Tuesday after Israeli forces identified a number of people trying to enter Israel, the Israel Defense Forces said.

Palestinian sources in Gaza told CNN that three men tried to enter Israel from southern Gaza, east of the Khan Younis refugee camp. Two of the men were killed in the clash with the IDF, and the Israeli forces were searching for the third, the sources said.

There were no casualties on the Israeli side, the IDF said.
