  • Pablo Picasso is voted your number one iconic painter of the 20th century
  • The Spanish are in the lead, with Picasso followed by Salvador Dali

(CNN) -- The votes have been tallied and Pablo Picasso is your number one iconic Western painter of the 20th century.

The prolific Spaniard, renowned for works including Guernica (1937) and Dora Maar with Cat (1941), beat nineteen of the century's other great painters to the top spot.

Following him is flamboyant surrealist and fellow Spaniard Salvador Dali.

Pop-father Andy Warhol, Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and abstract expressionist Jackson Pollock also make the Top Five.

Last month, CNN's arts and culture program, icon, asked you to vote for your top five most iconic painters of all time.

This month, we want to know your thoughts on the most iconic buildings across the world since 1900.

The Sydney Opera House, Flatiron Building and Hoover Dam are among the architectural giants competing for first place.
