(CNN) -- One person died when a bus going from Amsterdam to Paris crashed on a highway just inside the French border, a local official told CNN on Saturday.
The bus was carrying 37 passengers when it crashed Friday night near the village of Crespin, just over the border from Belgium, said Olivier Andre, prefect of the French department of Nord.
The person who died was a French passenger on the bus, he said. It wasn't clear whether it was a man or a woman.
Andre said it was too early to say what caused the crash.
