One dead in Spain arsenal explosion, government says

Madrid, Spain (CNN) -- A Spanish civil guard officer has died from a blast at a government arsenal where he was teaching a course on explosives, the state-run EFE news agency said Tuesday.

Sub-lieutenant Francisco Morcillo was showing some students how to put on a bomb-protection suit when the explosion occurred at 8:45 a.m. (2:45 a.m. ET), EFE said.
