London, England (CNN) -- TV talent show phenomenon Susan Boyle may sing for Pope Benedict XVI when he visits Scotland, a Catholic Church spokesman told CNN Thursday.
"We are negotiating with Susan Boyle and her agent at the moment for Susan to sing for the pope when he visits the U.K. in September," the spokesman said.
Benedict is due to visit England and Scotland from September 17-19.
