Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- A suspected drone strike killed five suspected militants in Pakistan's tribal region, Pakistani intelligence officials said Monday.
Two intelligence officials said six missiles were fired Wednesday on a suspected militant hideout in the Alwara Mandi area of North Waziristan, one of the districts of Pakistan's tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
The officials asked to not be named because they are not authorized to talk to the media.
While the United States is the only country in the region known to have the ability to launch missiles from drones -- which are controlled remotely -- U.S. officials normally do not comment on suspected drone strikes.
