(CNN) -- A British soldier was killed in a rocket-propelled grenade explosion in Afghanistan Sunday, the defense ministry announced.
The Royal Scots Borderers soldier died "disrupting" insurgents in Helmand Province's Nad-e Ali district, the ministry said.
The ministry did not name the soldier. His family has been told of his death.
He is at least the 333rd British person to die in Afghanistan since the United States-led invasion to topple the Taliban in 2001, according to the ministry.
