(CNN) -- Nine people were killed when a plane crashed at a popular New Zealand tourist site Saturday, police said.
The pilot and eight passengers were killed in the crash, which "had something to do with skydiving," said Senior Sgt. Allyson Elam of the Greymouth Police Department.
The victims included tourists from Australia, Ireland, England and Germany, she said.
The crash occurred about 200 km (124 miles) southwest of Fox Glacier Airport on New Zealand's South Island, she said.
Fox Glacier is on the island's west coast.
