Hong Kong, China (CNN) -- A fire hit a steel company's shuttle bus in eastern China's Jiangsu Province, killing 24 people, state-run media reported.

Another 19 people were injured in the blaze, the state news agency Xinhua reported.

The incident happened Sunday night in the city of Wuxi, Xinhua reported, citing local authorities.

Wuxi, a city of 4.5 million, is 124 km (77 miles) northwest of Shanghai.
