(CNN) -- Six NATO-led troops were killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday, NATO's International Security Assistance Force said.
The British Defense Ministry said a British Marine was killed by small arms fire during a firefight in Helmand province.
The Marine was one of three service members killed in southern Afghanistan. Two others, whose nationalities were not immediately disclosed, died after an improvised explosive device attack.
In eastern Afghanistan, a service member died after a bombing attack. In the western part of the country, one died after an accident during a patrol and another after a bombing. Their nationalities were not released.
