Guatemala City, Guatemala (CNN) -- Rescue workers looking for at least five people believed to be trapped under a landslide have resumed their search in Chinautla, Guatemala, a volunteer firefighter said Thursday.

Bad weather had initially forced the frantic search for survivors to stop just hours after the sides of a steep hillside collapsed Wednesday on top of a group of women gathering firewood.

Among those missing are Elvira Lajuc Alvarado, 29, her two children -- Floridalma, 4, and Keidy, 19 months -- Antonia Osorio, 29, and her daughter Erika Cortes Osorio, 3, according to Mario Cruz, an official with the volunteer fire department.

Chinautla is about 10 miles north of Guatemala City.
