(CNN) -- The Wisconsin state Capitol in Madison was evacuated Tuesday morning because of an "unverified threat to the building," but was reopened a few hours later, Capitol Police said.

Police said they were responding to a phoned-in bomb threat, and ordered the evacuation around 10 a.m., according to CNN affiliate WISC-TV. Nothing was found during a search.

State business scheduled in the building was postponed.
