New York (CNN) -- A man was killed and six others were injured Tuesday morning when a livery cab -- a limousine-style cab -- crashed into a bus stop after a collision with another vehicle, according to the New York City police department.
The incident, which occurred shortly before 11 a.m. in the Bronx, sent shattered glass flying and pedestrians scrambling.
The man who was killed was among those at the bus stop. One of the injured was in serious but stable condition, according to police.
According to a police spokesman, the livery cab crashed into a Dodge Caravan that was making an illegal U-turn, and then swerved into the bus stop. The driver of that Dodge Caravan was given a summons for an illegal turn, and the crash is under investigation, the police spokesman said.
