New York (CNN) -- Authorities reopened all lanes of a bridge connecting the New York boroughs of Queens and the Bronx Thursday after closing them during morning rush hour when a parked car prompted police to investigate, officials said.

The car's engine was left running under the Throgs Neck Bridge, said Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne. Video footage showed the vehicle's lights were on.

The bridge opened in 1961 to ease congestion on the Bronx Whitestone Bridge.
