(CNN) -- Thirty-six children on 18 sailboats were rescued Monday after their boats overturned in a Belmar, New Jersey, harbor, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The children, who were at a summer camp, are all in good condition and will not be transported to a hospital, said Coast Guard Petty Officer Anthony Nenni. They were rescued by the Coast Guard's 25-foot boat as well as lifeguards on personal watercraft, he said.
The children were sailing small boats, two children per boat, in the harbor when a storm unexpectedly blew up about 10:40 a.m. ET, Nenni said.
"The wind kind of surprised them," he added.
