Electrician at Disney sports complex killed

(CNN) -- An electrician working at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports complex near Orlando, Florida, died Friday, authorities said.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, worked for the Buena Vista Construction Company, according to Twis Lizasuain of the Osceola County Sheriff's Department. The individual was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at nearby Celebration Hospital, she said.

The victim died after being injured in the process of installing a transformer, according to a source close to the investigation.

"We extend our deepest sympathy and we are reaching out to the family at this difficult time," a Disney representative said in a written statement.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified, Lizasuain said. Osceola County sheriff's detectives are investigating.
