URGENT

A light earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4 shook southern California on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The quake happened at a depth of 5 km (3 miles), the USGS said.

There were no immediate reports of damage of injuries.

On Wednesday, a 4.5 magnitude earthquake was reported in northern California, but the USGS retracted it after seismologists reviewed it.
