(CNN) -- At least one person was killed when two tornadoes touched down in southern and western Minnesota on Thursday, police said.
A woman died when a tornado damaged her home in the city of Almora, a spokesman for the Tail County Sheriff's Office said.
Five other people were injured in the area, the spokesman said.
CNN-affiliate KARE said at least one of the tornadoes caused widespread damage, ripping roofs off of a high school, a bus garage and apartment complexes.
