(CNN) -- A private Cessna 310 with at least seven people on board crashed around 10 a.m. MT (noon ET) in New Mexico, killing five people, said FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford.
New Mexico State Police spokesman Lt. Eric Garcia said the plane was headed to the airport in Ruidoso, New Mexico, when it overshot the runway and crashed. Two survivors in critical condition were being airlifted from the scene and crews were sifting through the wreckage to make sure there weren't any more bodies, said Garcia.
Authorities have no tail number at this time, said Garcia.
