(CNN) -- Firefighters expect to be at the scene of a 4-alarm blaze at a pallet company in Henderson, Nevada, well into early Wednesday morning, the fire department said.

The blaze spread to an adjacent building, damaging it. It also forced the evacuation of several businesses, said the Henderson Fire Department.

"This is a significant fire. The smoke can be seen 13 miles away," Steve Goble with the fire department told CNN.

One person was treated for non-fire related injuries. No further details were provided

The fire started around 7:21 p.m. (10:21 p.m. ET).

"We won't know until tomorrow, maybe days, until we have a cause for the fire," Goble said.

A Holiday Inn Express about a half block away from the three story pallet company was evacuated because of smoke. Goble could not immediately report how many people were evacuated.

Several small businesses in the area were also evacuated, he said.

Video from CNN Las Vegas affiliate KTNV showed glowing red flames spewing from the pallet company against the backdrop of the lights of Las Vegas.
