(CNN) -- Australian Marcus Fraser leads the way by one stroke after a weather-disrupted opening round of the Ballantine's Championship in South Korea.

The 31-year-old carded a flawless seven-under-par 65 -- but six hours of delay due to heavy fog at the Pinx Golf Club, Jeju Island, meant a total of 66 players were unable to even tee off.

Fraser leads Englishman Mark Foster, with Ted Oh heading the local challenge alongside in-form Welshman Jamie Donaldson (16 holes) and Australian Rick Kulacz (17).

"I am very pleased," Fraser -- the 2003 Russian Open champion -- told the official European Tour Web site.

"I feel like I drove it very well and putted really well. I gave myself a lot of chances on the greens and managed to make a few."

Tournament favorites Ernie Els and Anthony Kim are both well in contention after carding four-under-par rounds of 68.
