Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Don't believe that internet rumor saying Elizabeth Taylor is hospitalized, a source close to the legendary actress told CNN late Thursday.

In fact, Taylor is about to leave Los Angeles for a European vacation just ahead of the release of her newest fragrance, said the source, who did not want to be identified because of the sensitive nature of her travels.

Taylor, 78, did check into a hospital last October so doctors could repair a leaky heart valve. That surgery was a success and "was like having a brand new ticker," she said in a Twitter posting at the time.

She often uses Twitter messages to dispel the occasional rumor reported on celebrity gossip websites.

Just last week, she set fans straight about a rumor she was engaged to be married to Jason Winters, 49, who has served as her manager for several years.

"The rumors regarding my engagement simply aren't true," Taylor tweeted last week. "Jason is my manager and dearest friend. I love him with all my heart."

The Oscar-winning actress has been busy preparing for the launch of her newest fragrance -- Violet Eyes -- on Mother's Day.

The fragrance is already sold out to retailers, the source close to Taylor said.

She created it with the same chemist who formulated her last fragrance, White Diamonds, which has been a best-seller since it was first released two decades ago.
