(CNN) -- A man shot and killed his brother and a female neighbor before killing himself Monday morning in a New Jersey suburban housing development, a county prosecutor said.

Ocean County prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford, who spoke at a press conference Monday afternoon, said residents at Little Egg Harbor's Tall Timbers townhouse development reported multiple shots to police at around 10:13 a.m.

Craig Mueller, 45, shot and killed his brother Bryan Mueller, 52, who lived in the apartment with him, according to Ford. Craig Mueller also shot and killed Kara Ellis, 21, who lived in the same development and had rushed to Brian Mueller's aid.

According to Ford, Craig Mueller fired at both victims with a semi-automatic weapon from a second floor bedroom window of his apartment before he shot himself.

Local and regional SWAT teams responded to the scene and nearby schools went on lockdown while police looked for the gunman. Police later lifted the lockdown after the shooter was found dead.

Ford wouldn't comment on a motive for the shooting.
