(CNN) -- Eight severed heads were found Tuesday in Durango, a city in central Mexico, the state attorney general's office said.
The heads were found in four locations in the city, which is the seat of the state by the same name.
The remains have not been identified, and the bodies have not been found, the prosecutors said.
