(CNN) -- Federal prosecutors are expected to announce Wednesday a grand jury indictment against a key al Qaeda operative, Adnan Shukrijumah, according to two federal law enforcement officials.
The indictment includes several terrorism-related charges related to a thwarted plot to bomb the New York subway system, they said.
Shukrijumah remains at large. Authorities have issued a reward of up to $5 million for information directly leading to his capture.
The case is based out of the Eastern District of New York.
