(CNN) -- A suspect in a Florida shooting rampage that left a young woman dead and two others critically injured was captured early Saturday after a manhunt, authorities said.

Andre Watkins, 53, was wanted in three separate shootings in Tampa on Friday. He was taken into custody after police surrounded his car while he was fueling at a local gas station.

Watkins faces charges of first degree murder, attempted murder, armed carjacking and armed kidnapping, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

The string of shootings started when Watkins carjacked a Ford F-150 pickup at a convenience store around 6:30 p.m. Friday, police said, and forced the driver to take him to a residence.

Deputies said when they arrived, Watkins walked up to a car with three occupants. He fired several rounds into the car, killing Alyssa Marie Aracich, 19, authorities said.

A short time later, Watkins drove to another home and shot Areil Love, 27, who answered the door, injuring him critically, the sheriff's office said.

He then drove to a gas station and allegedly shot Akbar Alwani, 57, an attendant, wounding him critically.

Authorities believe Watkins knew the victims.
