(CNN) -- In Focus -- from bling to budget

The Middle East has a reputation as a luxury destination, dominated by five-star hotels.

Back in the heyday of high-profile projects like Dubai's Burj Al Arab, owners in the region weren't interested in developing budget hotels. But, after a challenging year in 2009 and a sharp decline in occupancy rates, MME investigates how investors are now looking at cheaper options.

Facetime -- regional tourism roundup

Last year was challenging, but international tourism has been steadily gaining momentum in 2010.

In a special roundtable discussion, MME sits down with Ministers of Tourism from Morocco and Oman and a key member of The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities. They explain how the financial crisis has impacted the sector and discuss unlocking the region's tourism potential.
