(CNN) -- French photographer Martin Becka has come up with a novel way to capture one of the world's most modern cities, Dubai. A 150-year-old camera.

Soon-to-be world's tallest building, Burj, Dubai and sailboat-shaped Burj Al-Arab are some of the icons Becka has given an antique makeover using his 1857 view camera.

The results capture the Emirate's modern landscape in grainy black-and-white, giving the city's buildings, streets and construction sites the look of ancient monuments.
