A bomb threat at Copenhagen's airport Saturday prompted a temporary evacuation of Denmark's crown prince and his wife from their commercial flight, police said.
Crown Prince Frederik Andre Henrik Christian and Crown Princess Mary were passing through a gate when a 45-year old Danish man announced he had an explosive in his luggage, police spokesman Fleming Munch told CNN.
"I can't believe that with so many security guards around, they haven't found the bomb that I have in my suitcase," the man was heard saying.
After guards were told about the remark, they evacuated the couple. Airport security then removed everyone from the plane -- SAS Flight SK 943 bound for Chicago. The man was arrested.
Bomb-sniffing dogs failed to find explosives, and the plane was cleared for take-off after a delay of a few hours. Police said the royal couple made the flight.
The Danish monarchy's Web site says the crown prince was making an official visit to the United States.
