ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- More than 50 suspected militants in the northwestern Pakistan's volatile tribal region have been killed by military forces on Saturday, Pakistani sources said.
The Frontier Corps said paramilitary forces killed 37 suspected militants in the Khyber Agency as part of an operation targeting Lashkar e Islam, a group affiliated with the Taliban.
In addition to the 37 militants who were killed, others were wounded, the corps said. Forces also destroyed a facility used as a militant hideout and training center, as well as 15 houses believed to have been used by militants, the corps said.
In Orakzai Agency, 14 suspected militants were killed and several were wounded in Pakistani airstrikes, a military source said. Seven targets were struck by jet fighters, according to the source, who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to talk to the media.
