NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- A hailstorm tore through eastern India Sunday, killing at least 10 people, officials said Monday.

The storm swept through parts of West Bengal state for about 30 minutes before subsiding and came without warning from the weather office, Debabrata Pal, the state's disaster management joint secretary, said.

Four women were among the dead, according to Pal. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

CNN's Harmeet Shah Singh contributed to this story.
